Deer Resistant

This particular client was searching for a look reminiscent of the Midwestern meadow-lands of her childhood. The challenges here were that the landscaping required a certain amount of durability and deer resistance, in addition to maintaining a lush feel year-round.

Using a combination of boulders and both native and exotic ornamental grasses spread under the oak tree in the front yard, we were able to create a full and aesthetically pleasing space that will wear well throughout the year and will avoid continual problems with the local deer. An ornamental grass which tolerates moderate foot traffic and occasional mowing was used alongside the walkway as a lawn substitute.
